You shine

Good morning! Here we are, only one more day until we say goodbye to July. My daughter starts school next week already. Time is really flying by. And speaking of time..it's time for the sketch #65 reveal at Keeping the Best, and I have my inspirational page to share with you.
I used MME papers from the "Indie Chic" collection and the "Lime Twist" collection. The chipboard pieces are from the MME "The Sweetest Thing" collection -except for the word "shine". They all seemed to work so well together. All my layers were distressed with the Prima distressing tool. I matted the Lime Twist- Happy Go lucky together- on burlap after I messy punched the edges with a Martha Stewart  "Deco Fan" punch around the page. The flowers are a mix from Prima, Petaloo, and my stash. I used a Prima stamp with Stazon ink in "Midnight blue" on the background, then affixed Prima rhinestones in dark blue.
The ribbon and lace are also from my stash. I pleated the ribbon, affixing it to the lace as I went using my hot glue gun.
And here's the beautiful sketch we have to inspire you with, designed by Mistra Hoolahan
I hope it inspires you and you join us. I'd love to see your wonderful projects. Thanks so much for letting me share with you. Hope you have a great day!

Days like this...

Hello there! Today I'm sharing the page that I've done for the very first sketch challenge at Scrap It With Attitude and also the July quote challenge  "Days like this" at A-Z Scraplets.
I used papers from the Madeline collection by Prima.  The flowers are a mix from a Prima vine that I had cut up, some from my stash, and the two larger blue flowers I got from Lisa Duke. I added a few seed beads in my clusters and twined a pearl strand throughout to dress it up a touch. The door knocker is made by Fairytales.
I did just a bit of masking in the lower right corner to kind of mimic the tiny dots in the upper left corner.
And here's the sketch

Thanks for coming by! Hope you have a wonderful day!

You are amazing

Hi everyone! The weekend really flew by, but on the bright side it's time for another sketch reveal at Let's Get Sketchy. And here's my page based off the sketch
I'm still on my spending freeze, trying to use up a bunch of my older stash. I found these GCD Studios papers "Sterling" and "Comfy" from the Botanique collection designed by Donna Salazar. I really love the lavender and gray tones in these papers. I used a MS border punch around the background then distressed and finished it with dark lavender ink, using black ink randomly. The masking was done using a Prima stencil and thick gesso, dressing it up with a few scattered pearls. I used cardboard under my layers for added dimension.
The beautiful white butterflies I had got from Renea's etsy
She has gorgeous butterflies in every color as well as other goodies that are just perfect for that finishing touch you need.
I turned the sketch counter clockwise

Keeping the Best sketch reveal #64

Good morning! Today I'm sharing the page that I've done for sketch reveal #64 at Keeping the Best. Here is the beautiful sketch we have to inspire you...
I used the Lyric paper collection by Prima for this page. I did some masking with two Prima stencils and thick texture paste to the background, but I left it white. I wanted the texture but I wanted it subtle. I used Tattered Angels Black Magic on the title chippie for contrast and just a bit of sparkle.
The vine with the small white flowers is by Petaloo called Lily of the Valley and the rest are a mix from Prima, Recollections, and some I found on my work table. I think they were on a flower bunch that I had picked up at Michael's and cut them off the stems.
Thanks so much for taking the time to let me share this with you today! I really appreciate it!

My favorite love story is ours

Hello all! I'm glad you stopped by. If you're here for the About a Girl reveal please scroll down. Use Your Word challenge blog has launched with it's initial challenge. The challenge for you is to use the word "Story" in your title or journaling.
I used some older Carta Bella papers that I had been hoarding from a kit from Scraps of Darkness, and did a bit of random pinching, stamping, and masking to the background. The lilies and large red flower were won during a blog hop so I'm not sure who makes them. The silver heart charm I got  in an older kit from the Flying Unicorn. All the other embellishments are from my stash.

Let freedom ring

Good morning! I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. Here in the U.S. we've just celebrated our independence as a country and keeping with that theme I've done a page for the July week two sketch reveal  at Let's Get Sketchy
The Bo Bunny "Anthem" papers and die cuts I used for my page worked perfectly for the theme. I did some random masking on the background with a CW "Tiny Circles" mask. It kind of reminded me of fireworks streaming down the page. I cut out the hexagons, lightly distressed the edges, and then adhered them with pop dots for dimension.

And this is the fabulous sketch that inspired me...

Spread your wings

Good morning! Keeping the Best sketch #63 has been revealed today and I'm sharing the page that I've created for the reveal
I used Prima's Fairy Belle papers for this page. The layers are matted on cardboard for dimension. I did masking on the background with the ledger mask by Crafter'sWorkshop and Shimmerz Texturez in Patina. The cute bird nest and resin bird are both by Prima. The lace, trim, and flowers are all from my stash.
And here's the fun sketch we have to inspire you...
Thanks for stopping by! I really appreciate your time. If you get the chance to play with the sketch remember to link up with us, I'd love to see your creations.

With each new day

Good morning all! It's time for a new challenge at About a girl. We are challenging you to use the word "NEW" somewhere in the title of your page. How easy is that? Here is the page I created for the reveal...
I used Prima's Romance Novel papers, dabbing a little gesso with a sponge to tone it down just a bit. Randomly masking with a small circles stencil and tangerine ink to help bring some of the peachy undertone out of the paper. The flowers are a mix of Prima and some from my stash. The metal elements are by Tim Holtz. The butterflies are Recollections. And the birdcage chippie is from Gina's Designs lasercuts. For the treatment on the birdcage I simply gave it a couple layers of gesso, then lightly stamped it with Color Box in Antique gold.
Thanks so much for stopping in! Hope to see you link your "New" creation with us. Have a great day.
