Let's play Bingo!

Hello everybody! Let's Get Sketchy has a super fun challenge for this fifth Monday. It's a Bingo challenge! I went straight down the "O" line using a mask, punch, 3 pattern papers, tags, and a doily for my page.
You need to complete 5 squares vertically, horizontally or diagonally. That means you must use the product or technique on your layout that is listed in each square of your line. And if you play your card right, and use a line that has the peppermint candy in the middle, you only have to use 4 products/techniques on your layout. Be sure to specify what line you used on your layout. Your layout does not have to be Christmas related. But some of the squares on the Bingo card are good incentives to get those Christmas photos scrapped. Look at these fun choices.
And speaking of Christmas, have you checked out the LGS Inspired Christmas Edition?
If not check it out here.
This is the page I created for this edition
And remember submissions are now open for our next Sketch Inspired Magazine. This issue will go live online Feb 1, 2014. The deadline for submissions to our February 1st Issue is January 10, 2014. You will find the details here.
Thanks so much for stopping by! I truly appreciate your time and support. And I hope you have an amazing New Year!

Resting up

Happy Monday morning everyone! Can you believe that in just two short days it will be Christmas? With that in mind I did a Christmas themed inspiration page for today's sketch reveal at Let's Get Sketchy.
Doesn't it look like he's resting up before his big job tomorrow night? Lol Well I thought so anyway. For this page I used Pink Paislee papers and embellishments, Echo Park bingo cards, tape and flair from Recollections, and the stamp and star sequins are from AC.

And here's the final sketch for the year, which I turned counterclockwise
If you are able to find some crafty time between your Holiday festivities to join us, I'd love to see your creations. Thanks so much for stopping in. I want to wish all of you and your loved ones a very Merry Christmas full of blessings!

Just the way you are

Good morning all! It's Monday, and that means another sketch has been revealed at Let's Get Sketchy. Here is my inspiration page based off this week's sketch.
For this page I used Crate Paper's Flea Market papers with tags from the DIY collection. The lyrics are from one of my daughter's favorite songs by Bruno Mars. I had a lot of fun making this page, but of course the song got stuck in my head and I caught myself singing it all day. I'm glad I was home alone most of the day because a good singer I am not.
And here's this week's fabulous sketch that I turned counterclockwise
Now it's your turn and I can't wait to see your takes on the sketch. Link your projects here under the Dec. week 2 link. Thanks so much for stopping in for a peek! I truly appreciate your time and lovely comments!

She flies

Hi there scrappy friends! It's time for the girls' challenge at Boy Meets Girl. As promised we have moved the reveal date up to give you more time to join in. Instead of waiting for the reveal on the 15th of the month we will now have our challenge reveals on the 5th of every month. For the December challenge we would like for you to use the same photo more than once on your page. Super easy, right? Here's what I came up with
For my background I started with a piece of plain white cardstock, and did a little playing around with stamping and stenciling. After it dried I decided try out some metallic watercolors that I purchased a while back. I have to say the shimmer they give off is beautiful IRL. The journal card tucked into my layers says "With brave wings she flies." My daughter's a teenager now, and I definitely see her venturing out more, testing her wings so to speak.
Remember you have the entire month to enter. So grab your photos and join in. I'd love to see your creations. Thanks so much for stopping by!

Upon us all a little rain must fall

Good morning all! A fabulous new sketch has gone live at Keeping the Best, and I have my inspiration page to share with you.
I used Crate Paper's DIY collection for this page, along with some doilies and misc. embellishments. For a bit more texture and interest I added a few large splatters of paint and a bit of random stamping to the background. I made the raindrops using Glossy Accents.
And here's sketch #74
I hope you get a chance to join us. I'd love to see your take on the sketch. You have 2 weeks to link your creation here. Thanks for coming by for a peek!  I really appreciate your time and lovely comments. Happy scrapping =)

You are loved

Happy Monday! It's reveal time once again at Let's Get Sketchy. Here's my page based from this week's sketch
On the background I lightly dabbed some gesso with a sponge to give it a worn/washed out effect. Then using the "tiny circles" stencil by CW and black ink, I went around here and there. I fussy cut all the frames, adhering some with pop dots for dimension. For my leaves I used a sheet of Core'dinations cardstock, sanding them a bit to bring out the blue/gray color underneath, and keep with the "worn" feel. Finishing it off with a few splatters of acrylic paint in Fruit punch. I have used a stencil, circles, and leaves so I'm entering this in the 4th challenge at 1 2 3 Get Scrappy.
And here's this week's fabulous sketch designed by Ashley Horton
Thanks for taking the time to stop by for a peek! I know many of you will be rather busy getting things ready for Thanksgiving this Thursday, but I hope you get a chance to join us. Link your creations here. I can't wait to see your take on the sketch =)

A wonderful winter day together

Good morning all! It's time for the mid-month challenge at Boy Meets Girl. This time it's all about scrapping those girl photos using a winter color scheme, but no bright colors. And here's my inspirational page for the challenge
I used Authentique's "Glistening" papers, transparencies and burlap doily by LYB, and Dusty Attic snowflake chippies. The flowers, lace, fibers, and misc. bling are all from my stash. For a bit more texture and interest I added some masking and stamping to the background.
I based my page from this sketch I found on Pinterest
Thanks for coming by! And please check out what the rest of the DT have created to inspire you with! Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

There's so many possibilities for this sketch! Using the DIY collection by Crate Paper, here's what I came up with
And now it's your turn. I hope you get the chance to join us. Thanks so much for dropping by for a peek! Have a wonderful Veteran's Day!

Lovely

Good afternoon everyone! Keeping the Best sketch #72 reveal has gone live, and I have my inspiration page to share with you.
For this page I used MME "Lost and Found 3" papers. On the background I've done some stenciling with a Crafter's Workshop stencil and heavy gesso. I used a heat gun to dry it; I wanted it to bubble up for more texture and interest. I also stenciled with a Prima chalker and a Prima stencil. Then I did a little random stamping in black with a 3rd Eye stamp "Full of words." The chipboard butterflies are from Heidi Swapp. The large white flower is from Manor House and the smaller ones are a mix of Prima and Wild Orchid crafts, as well as a few from my stash. I believe the washi tapes are from Queen and co. and Recollections.
I matted the top photo with pop dots for dimension, then wrapped the photos together with string for the November challenge at Inkido.
And here's the fantastic new sketch
I hope you get a chance to join us. Thanks for stopping by! I truly appreciate your time and lovely comments.

All of 13

Happy Monday everyone! It's time for the last sketch reveal of the month at Let's Get Sketchy, and we have another fabulous sketch designed by Ashley Horton to get your mojo going.
Here's the page that I created based off the sketch
For this page I used  "This & That" papers and journal cards by Echo Park, with misc. embellies mixed in. Originally, my page started off looking a lot different than it ended up. That's just the way it works sometimes, right? I had fewer layers and they were more spread out. The sketch shows the possibility for 3 photos, which I never seem to have, so I was planning on using 2 of the journal cards in place of the photos I didn't have. Well even after fiddling with it for almost an hour it still felt too boxy to me. So I moved all the layers closer, adding some doilies and paper tearing to soften the edges a bit. And this is what I ended up with, which I'm pretty happy with.
All in all I had a lot of fun working with the sketch and I hope you do too. Just be sure to link your project back here so we can come admire your work, as well as get a chance to win a gift card from Creative Embellishments

Thanks so much for spending some of your time with me and your lovely comments! I truly appreciate it. Have an awesome day!

Enjoy the journey

Good morning, scrappy friends! Today the revealing of sketch #25 at 2 Broke Girls Scraps has gone live. So today I'm sharing my design team layout that I created for inspiration.
To start, I toned down the background with a sponge and some gesso, going back with a sponge and some inks to bring in some of the peach, orange, and rust tones from the photo. Then in place of the circle element from the sketch I did a bit of light stenciling. Once that was dry I really started to pile on the layers, finishing it off with a few splatters of Heidi Swapp color shine in peach. For the title chippie I used the same inks that I used in the background to give it a bit of an ombre effect similiar to the photo.
And here is this week's fantastic sketch that I flipped
Thanks so much for taking a peek! I hope that I've inspired you even just a bit to join us. I can't wait to see your creations based off the sketch. Hope you have a wonderful week!

Under a harvest moon

Good afternoon all! I have a real quick post to share today. It's time to reveal sketch #71 at Keeping the Best, and I have my inspiration page to share with you.
For this page I used Basic Grey's "Serenade" range layering with misc. tags, washi tape, twine, flowers, and leaves.  Adding a bit of stitching, gesso, stamping, and acrylic paint.
And this is the fabulous new sketch to inspire you

I hope you get the chance to play along with us. Thanks so much for coming by! Hope you have an awesome day!

Darling

Good morning all! It's the 15th so it's time for the mid month challenge reveal at Boy Meets Girl. We are challenging you to use any type of texture on your page/project. And remember that the mid month challenge is for the girls, so the subject of your page must be a girl/girls.
I found this adorable little girl on Pinterest and knew I had to use her. On this page I used Prima "Tea Thyme" papers and a couple of scraps from my scrap basket. With modeling paste and a Prima stencil I created a bit of texture to the background, lightly inking it with Vintage pink chalk edger by Prima. Then I went around the background with a bit of gesso. The frames I made using a Martha Stewart punch set, adding pearls to the corners.
Adding a bit of cheescloth, moss, and lace to my flower cluster for softness and additional texture.
Thanks so much for coming by! Hope you have a wonderful day!

a Mother's love

Good afternoon everyone! It's time for the final word reveal at Use Your Words. Your last challenge word is "love" to use in your title or journaling. This is what I created
Is there a stronger love than that of a Mother for her children? I found this wonderful vintage photo on Pinterest. For this I used Prima Fairy Rhymes papers mixed with a couple of scraps I had on hand. I started by toning down the background with gesso, then went back and did some random masking with gesso and a stencil. Once that dried I used a ledger mask and "Patina" texturz by Shimmerz. For my flower cluster I started with a piece of cheescloth as my base, then addeed a Prima vine that I had cut up, stringing a strand of pearls through. Then I just start building my flower cluster with various flowers and floral wires, finishing it by tucking in a small spool with thread for a cute little added touch.

I hope that I've inspired you in some small way to join us. I would "love" to see your creations. Thanks for dropping by for a peek!

Every flower

Happy Monday morning all! Are you ready for a new sketch reveal? Today I'm sharing the latest from Let's Get Sketchy, and my inspiration page.
For this page I used papers from the "Flea Market" collection by Crate Paper, a journal card from the MME "Flair" papers, and bits from the Maggie Holmes Ephemera pack by Crate Paper. Add some washi tape, doily, and a few misc. embellies and let the layering begin... finishing it off with just a few splatters of black acrylic paint. The photo is a little gem I found on Pinterest. It reminds me of my Grandma's table, and I love the colors in it.
And here's the fabulous sketch designed by Brenshevia to inspire you
So go grab your scrappy supplies, I can't wait to see what you come up with! Thanks for coming by! Have a wonderful day!

Good mornin'

Good morning all! It's reveal time for sketch #70 at Keeping the Best. Here's the new sketch to inspire you
For my page I mirrored the sketch
I hand stiched my sunburst on the background then played with a little gesso, random masking, and stamping. I used scraps from the "Origins" collection from Basic Grey, along with doilies, washi tape, and misc. tags for my layers. I crumpled them up a bit for more dimension, inking the edges in black for definition. Finishing it off with a few splatters of Tattered Angels in Sun Sisters and Black Magic.
Now it's your turn, what will you create from the sketch? Remember to link back to us here. I can't wait to see your creations. Thanks for stopping by for a peek!

Belle

Hello all! It's time for a new sketch reveal at 2 Broke Girls. So today I'm sharing my inspiration page that I did based off this week's sketch
And here's what I created
For this page I dug back into my stash of older collections, hoping to find papers that would compliment the pretty photo and maybe make a small dent in my hoarded stash. And this is what I found. I used lots of distressed layers and chipboard pieces from BoBunny's "Little Miss" collection. The script paper is one that I've had for awhile as well, unfortunately I can't remember where the heck I got it or who makes it. I inked the edges in "vintage photo" distress ink. And I used distress paint in "vintage photo" for the rings. The flowers, pearls, lace, and ribbon are all from my stash. Do you think the girl is taking a flower or putting it in the arrangement?

Family

Good morning! Can you believe that it's already October 1st? Fall has finally started to arrive where I live with cooler nights and the leaves beginning to change. I just love Fall in the Smokies. With the changing season I decided to create a page with a photo of us during a family cookout/bonfire and more Fall like colors for the Use Your Words reveal. Here is my "Family" page
I chose to use some Authentique "Blissful" range that I've been hoarding for awhile. I love this color combo. I distressed and lightly inked the layers in black. For a little more texture and interest I tucked in a zipper that came in an older Scraps of Darkness kit. The cute little light bulbs are by Prima. And the flowers are a mix of Prima, Recollections, and my stash. The ribbon and pearls are from my stash as well. And lastly, to tie it all together I used some Inka Gold in "Lava red" randomly throughout the layers.
And now it's your turn to share your "family" with us. I can't wait to see your creations. Thanks for dropping in for a peek. Have a great day!

Autumn card

Hello! It's reveal time again at Let's Get Sketchy. With this being the fifth Monday in September we've decided to change it up just a bit. This week we are challenging you to create a Fall inspired or Halloween inspired card. And here's the simple card I came up with
Easy peasy and done in about 10 minutes! I kept it simple because I don't normally create cards, this is only my second card ever. So even if you're new to cards like me, go grab your Fall or Halloween supplies and just have fun. I hope to see your awesome cards linked up with us! Thanks so much for stopping by! Happy crafting!

Keeping the Best sketch #69 reveal

Hello all! Today I'm sharing my DT layout for the sketch #69 reveal at Keeping the Best. I turned the sketch for my page.
For my page I decided to keep it pretty simple with a few fun techniques thrown in. I dug deep into my stash and found this mix of patterned papers from Sassafras Lass, October Afternoon, and Lily Bee. I started off with a piece of plain kraft paper that I stamped, doodled, inked, and stenciled on first. Then I added my layered banners, tucking in my journaling card and upcycled Prima package. I also layered in a bit of lace and some of the washi tape that I just got for my birthday that I couldn't wait to use. Finally finishing it off with a photo of my Hydrangea that's still blooming, embellies and paint splatters.
And here's the fun new sketch
Thanks for dropping by! I hope you give the sketch a try and link back to us.

Wonderful

Happy Monday morning all! It's time for a new reveal at Let's Get Sketchy and we have another fabulous sketch to inspire you. This is my DT page based off this week's sketch
For this page I used papers and tags from the Hope Chest collection by Pink Paislee, which came in my May Scraps of Elegance kit. I even upcycled the paper bag that the embellies came in. Renea Harrison made the pretty butterflies for the kit. I think they go with the photo wonderfully. The flowers are a mix of different collections by Prima that I had in my stash, along with the pearls, resin, and misc. chipboard pieces. I believe this particular photo is one that I had saved from Pinterest to use as a wallpaper quite a while back. At least before I was running around my yard with camera in hand like some butterfly chasing fool earlier this summer. I'm so glad that I don't have close neighbors to witness my antics. Anyways, here's a couple closies
And here's this week's fabulous sketch designed by the talented Tabitha Triplett
Thanks for stopping in! Hope you have an amazing week!
