Little Miss memory tray for Reneabouquets

Good morning all! I'm back today sharing another project that I created as GDT for Reneabouquets.com and Reneabouquets Etsy Shop. This time I've decided to tackle a memory tray. I have been holding onto this tray for quite a while. I love looking at the ones others have done, but I just wasn't ready for the challenge until I seen the latest one that Renea created. You can see her tray here. So I dug the tray back out, grabbed my goodies from the shop, and jumped in. And here's my first tray.
I used Bo Bunny's Little Miss range for my tray. I started by distressing my papers with my Zutter distrezz machine and fussy cutting some of the elements from the papers. I affixed pieces of cardboard to all the elements to help them stand out and give some more dimension to the tray.
For my flowers I used some of the Victorian Velvet Glitter Glass flower set that you can find in the shop.
For a little more interest on a couple of the spaces I decided to try some stenciling using a CW stencil and some of the Tim Holtz texture paste from the shop. Have you tried this paste? It's awesome to work with.
The tray wouldn't be complete without some butterflies. The Tiny Treasures- Precious Keepsake butterflies were a perfect touch. Renea's butterflies are always so gorgeous -love 'em!
See those cute scissors in the corner cluster? Yep, they are in the shop also =)

The only reason

Good morning! It's reveal time at Let's Get Sketchy and so I have my inspiration page to share with you. As soon as I seen the sketch I knew right away what I wanted to do, so I grabbed the Authentique "Suave" papers that I've been hoarding  saving and went to work. And this is what I came up with.
I started by giving all the edges of my layers a sloppy punch job using a doily lace border punch by Martha Stewart. I achieved the look I wanted by putting the paper edges half way through the punch and changing the angle of the punch each time. After placing my first three layers down I gave the background a little stamping with a Kaisercraft script stamp and Colorbox black ink. And for some added texture I splattered the background with white and black acrylic paint. Then using the same border punch I created two white strips to mimic the lace I was using and help define the photo strip. The wooden birdcage I placed between my photos I happened to find at Hobby Lobby in a pack of six. The pearls are from Recollections, as well as some of the flowers I used. The lace and the stamens I tucked in my cluster are from my stash.
And here's our fabulous sketch this week

Now it's your turn to work the sketch and I can't wait to see your creations. Be sure to link your projects here under the week 4 link. Thanks so much for dropping in! I truly appreciate your time a lovely comments. Hope you have a creative day!

Perfect Moments ~for Reneabouquets

Good morning all! I'm back today with another guest design project that I've created for Reneabouquets.com and Reneabouquets Etsy Shop using another set of her super gorgeous butterflies. This time I'm using some of the Tiny Treasures- Precious Keepsakes Glitter Glass butterflies.
I started by running my layers through my Zutter distress machine to get all the edges nice and thick and perfectly chewed up. Using a sponge and gesso I dabbed my background to tone down the script paper a bit. Once the gesso dried I inked my background with Prima chalk ink in Pastel pink for a light touch of color, then using a Prima stencil and modeling paste I went over the inked areas to get a little more texture and interest. After the paste dried and my other layers and photo were down I was ready to add my clusters.
Don't those Precious Keepsakes butterflies look scrumptious perched amongst the blooms? I love 'em!
Here's a view of the texture and dimension on this page.
And here's a last look at those gorgeous butterflies =) The details and sparkle are amazing!

Hey you

Hey there everyone! Michelle here with you and today I have my first project using the August kit "Summer's End" from the Frosted Design's Store. I have to say I love this gorgeous kit, it was perfect for showcasing this recent photo of my daughter.
With a design set in my mind I went to work. I started by tearing the bottom edge of the background then added some inking, stamping, and splatters of white acrylic paint as well as the Cornflower chalk mist from the kit. Once that dried I distressed the edges, then used a border punch here and there. I cut and distressed a few layers to place under the photo, and added some dimension by affixing a piece of cardboard underneath. I added the embossed arrow sticker from the kit (also matted on a cardboard strip) to each side of the photo. I made a tag from the Petaloo flower package and placed it under the photo. Then I created some flower clusters using flowers I had left over from the July kit "Enchanted" as well as a few from my stash. To create a bit more texture and interest on the background I added some of the tattered mica fragments that comes in the "messy" kit. I simply swiped liquid glue with my finger in random areas and then sprinkled the mica fragments over it.
The beautiful Prima resin feathers from the kit were a perfect additional element tucked in the flower cluster.
Thanks for coming by! Hope you have a wonderful day!

Today for Stick It Down

Good morning everyone! It's time for our first sketch reveal for August at Stick It Down and I have my inspiration page to share with you. When I seen the sketch I knew right away what I wanted to do so I grabbed my supplies and went to work. Here's what I came up with.
I've done a bit of mixed media to the background using gesso, watercolors, some inks, and a couple of stencils. Then I made a bed of flowers, layering a doily and tags that I made under where I wanted my photos to sit. After placing my photos down I tucked in a few metal buttons and my title, finishing it off with a couple pretty butterflies. It all came together so easily and I had a lot of fun creating it.
And here's our August sketch
I hope you get a chance to join us. I'm really looking forward to seeing your projects based off the sketch. Thanks for coming by! I appreciate you letting me share my page with you today! Hope you have a creative day!
