Little Miss Joan

Hello and happy Monday all! It's time for a new sketch reveal at Let's Get Sketchy and I have my inspiration page to share with you.
For this page I used papers from Prima's Princess range. I think the muted tones kept the design from being too busy and allowed the photo to stay the focal point of the page. At first I wasn't crazy about the page, but it's growing on me. lol
And here's our fun sketch for you this week.
Thanks so much for taking the time to drop by! I appreciate it! Hope you have an awesome day!

Love for Picture This

Good morning! I hope everyone has been enjoying their weekend. Here we are. in the middle of March already, and it's time for the mid-month challenge reveal at Picture This! For this challenge we want you to picture this:
2 photos+ dark background+ butterfly
Following the criteria this is what I came up with.
I used papers from the Sugar Chic collection by Heidi Swapp for my page. On the background I started by adding texture by combining two different stencils and heavy gesso. Then I added some splatters in Robin's Egg and White acrylic paint to relieve the black background just a bit more. I inked the edges of my photos black and mounted them each on a thin piece of cardboard for dimension, then adhered them to my layers. Next came the embellishing and I used a mix of flowers, flair, teal glittered clothes pin, enamel dots, silver buttons, and butterflies. After adding the Heidi Swapp chipboard title it was done.
Now it's your turn to tackle the challenge criteria and I can't wait to see how you picture it! Thanks so much for dropping in! Hope you have a creative day!

True Beauty

Hello and happy Monday all! Today I'd love to share my inspiration page for the new sketch reveal at Let's Get Sketchy.
I had found the whole Heidi Swapp's Sugar Chic collection that I had hoarded away, and decided to use some of it for my take on the sketch. I love the colors in this collection. I turned the beautiful sketch counterclockwise to better work with the photo of my daughter.
I hope you get the chance to join us. You have until the end of the month to link up your projects here under the March week 2 link.
Thanks so much for coming by! Have an amazing day!

Treasure Everyday Moments for Scrap Africa

Good morning all! I'm thrilled to be guest designing at Scrap Africa for their March 1st sketch challenge. Here is the page I created based off the beautiful sketch, which I turned upside down.
I chose papers from Kaiser Craft's Blue Bay collection for this page. I started by doing a little random stamping with a script stamp and Prima's chalk ink in Farmer's Jeans. To add more texture and interest I used heavy gesso and a ledger stencil, then a Tim Holtz faded dots stencil. I used acrylic paint in Marine and a lid to create a few random rings on the background. And the I added splatters with white acrylic paint and Tattered Angels in Dark Denim. I inked all the layers matting the photo with the Farmer's Jeans then matted on thin cardboard for dimension. Then I layered my photos, mounting the bottom one on another piece of thin cardboard, and adhered them to my matting. My flowers are a mix of Petaloo and some white blooms from my stash. I added a few metal trinkets and string to the clusters. Then added some seed beads randomly for a bit more detail.
And here's their beautiful sketch.
If you have a moment please check out the full reveal here. Thanks so much for stopping by! Hope you have an amazing day!
