Woodland Winter

Good morning everyone! Here we are the Monday before Christmas, have you gotten all your shopping and preparations done? I must confess, I'm running behind this year. I've had health issues with both my parents for the past month so everything else has had to be put off. There's still a couple of gifts I need to run out and get, finish the wrapping, then get started on the baking. If you're one of the lucky one's that's checked everything off your to do list hopefully you'll find a bit of time to play along with the new sketch that was revealed this morning at Let's Get Sketchy. Here's my inspiration page based from the sketch featuring products from Reneabouquets.com.
I chose to use Bo Bunny papers for this wintery page. I started by distressing and randomly punching the background. To add interest and texture I added a bit of stamping and stenciling. Then I dry brushed some gesso on the background. For the snowflakes, pine branches, pine cones, and flowers I gave them a quick brush of gesso and while it was still wet I sprinkled on some Hero Arts ultra fine prisma glitter. As a finishing touch I added some silver micro beads throughout the clusters. I love the added texture they give.
I've used the Dec. challenge moodboard from Berry71bleu for inspiration.
And here's our fabulous sketch for you this week designed by Laura Whitaker.
And before I go here's a list of the products I used from Reneabouquets.com and Etsy shop. The shops are currently on vacation, but will start taking orders again on Jan.2nd.
Snow White Butterflies, Ranger Texture Paste, Tim Holtz Speckles Stencil, Prima Tatiana flowers, and Reneabouquets Silver Microbeads.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I truly appreciate your time and lovely comments! Hope you have an amazing day!

Final post for Stick It Down

Good morning! It's reveal time at Stick It Down and I have my inspiration page to share with you that I based off the sketch.
I kept my design simple and as close to the sketch as possible. I simply flipped the sketch, did a little stamping, splattering, and paper tearing. Quick and simple, while using up some of my older stash- yay! I love when that happens =)
And here's our sketch.
Thanks so much for stopping by! Hope you have a creative day!

Do I hear Santa?

Good morning! Can you believe it's Dec. 1st already? The brand new challenge site Picture This! has decided to issue a mini challenge to give you a small sample of things to come. So for your first challenge your layout must follow this criteria:
1 photo + Christmas + paper strips + layers
Pretty easy right? Here's my inspiration page that I created.
For this I combined two Christmas lines from Pink Paislee and a few misc. items from my stash. I started by giving my second layer a sloppy border with a MS punch then added interest and texture by stamping, stenciling, and adding a few paint splatters to the background. Next I cut all my strips and inked them black for some definition, mounting them on cardboard for dimension. Then I just started layering... and layering lol. I had a lot of fun working this challenge. I used up some of my stash and I love the way my page turned out. Now it's your turn to work the challenge. What will you create? You have until Dec. 15th to link your pages here. I can't wait to see your projects! Hope you have an amazing day!

December sneaks for My Creative Scrapbook

Good morning! I hope everyone (in the US) had a wonderful Holiday weekend with family and friends. And for all my friends outside the US, I hope that you also had an enjoyable weekend. The whole month of November was really hectic for me so I'm kind of relieved that I was able to accomplish everything that I had to, but now that means there's just 24 days until Christmas. Yikes! I've barely started my shopping, normally I'm almost done by this time. lol And speaking of Christmas, today I have some sneak peek photos to share with you of some layouts that I created for My Creative Scrapbook using their gorgeous December Limited Edition kit.
And here's a few more until the full reveal on the 5th.
And for more sneak peeks at all the kits please visit here. Thanks so much for coming by! Have a creative day!

Two new cards for Friday the Thirteenth

Good morning! Today I have a couple cards that I've created for Friday the Thirteenth using their beautiful papers. I hope you will like them. On the first card I added some texture by distressing and tearing the edges. Then added a bit more texture using a stencil and modeling paste, smudging it in random spots for a bit of a distressed look, then added pearls to the design. I added a thin piece of cardboard between the layers for a touch more dimension. Next I added my flower clusters and a lacy double bow with a birdcage charm sewn on. I finished it off with a couple of yellow flutters and a few random touches of gesso using a small sponge.

And here's my second card. For this card I cut a distressed edge with my scissors, then inked the edges with Prima chalk ink for definition. I then mounted a thin piece of cardboard between the papers for added dimension. I've added some stenciling and pearls to this one as well. Next I added my layers of laces and ribbons. I created the paper ruffle by lightly wetting a strip of paper so that it was easier to manipulate, then added my ruffles and allowed it to dry. And then I added my flower cluster, with more pearls, and finished it with a couple of contrasting flutters.

Well that's it from me today. I truly appreciate you stopping by and allowing me to share my cards with you today. Hope you have a creative day!

For ReneaBouquets

Good morning! Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! Today I'd like to share my latest creation for Reneabouquets.com/ and Reneabouquets Etsy shop featuring some of the products you will find in her shops. I need a title for it though, do you have any suggestions?
I started by punching a border with a MS punch set- I don't remember the name of it something "gate" I believe. I'll have to see if I can look it up so I know next time =) To lighten up the dark blue background I used a few different stamps and Mixed Media ink in Jasmine. Then using texture paste and a stencil I added more texture, smudging it in a few spots for a distressed look and help lighten the background even further. I was inspired by the way the lady in the photo has her papers sort of strewn about so I tried to mimic it in my layers under the photo. After distressing the layers I mounted them on cardboard for dimension. For a perfect touch of elegance and bling I added a couple rhinestone/pearl buttons and Renea's butterflies. Once I had my design down I went one step further and added some of Renea's glass microbeads to the background and throughout the clusters. It really adds even more beautiful texture and detail to the page.
The products I used from her shops are:
Tim Holtz texture paste and the Gothic layering stencil
Prima metal mailbox embellishment
Prima Winthrop flowers Tourmaline
Tiny Treasures English Rose Garden butterflies
Timeless Rhinestone button
Reneabouquets Glass Microbeads- silver

Thanks so much for stopping in and letting me share with you today! I truly appreciate it! Hope you have a creative day!

Enjoy every second

Good morning and happy Saturday! Here we are midway through November already and it's time for a challenge reveal at Colorful Creations. And here is the page I created using the color palette and sketch.
I was inspired by the black, gray, green, and yellow with touches of white in the color palette so used KaiserCraft's Limelight range. I started on the background with a few random punches using an EK punch, then inked the edges black. Next I did some stamping with a couple different stamps and added texture using modeling paste and a stencil. Then I gave the background a good dose of splatters using thinned gesso and Smooches in lettuce and wicked. After adhering all the layers in my design I added a few more splatters as a finishing touch. Here are a few close-ups.
And here's our mid-month sketch and color palette.
You have until the end of the month to link your creations up. I'm looking forward to seeing your projects. Thanks for stopping by! Have an amazing weekend!

Together

Good morning and happy Monday all! It's time for a new sketch reveal at Let's Get Sketchy. So today I'm sharing my inspiration page based off this week's fabulous sketch.
I used KaiserCraft's Key To My Heart collection for this page. On the background I've done some stamping and stenciling, as well as some sloppy punch work. Then I distressed all my layers, mounting the layers under my photos on a thin piece of cardboard for a bit more dimension. The large flower and flair are from Prima, all the other flowers, buttons, and pearls are from my stash. I colored my wooden title with a couple different inks trying to get a bit of a mottled, aged look. As a finishing touch I thinned down some gesso and gave the page a few splatters with a fan brush. I'm pretty happy with the results. I hope you like it =)
And here's our fabulous sketch this week designed by Laura Whitaker.
Now it's your turn to work the sketch. I can't wait to see your projects. Remember you have until Nov. 30th to link your creations up. Thanks so much for dropping in! Have a creative day!

So Thankful

Hi there everyone! I have two more pages to share that I've created while guest designing for My Creative Scrapbook.
I have loved working with the Kaisercraft Be-You-tiful collection in the limited Edition kit. These papers are so gorgeous and fun to work with, not to mention all the gorgeous flowers. On the first page I've done some random stamping and stenciling, as well as a little dabbing with a sponge and gesso. I tucked my clusters under the photo and used a couple of the Prima metal embellies.
And here's my other page.
Once again I've done some stamping to the background, first along the edges & then randomly with a script stamp. Then I did a bit of random stenciling & sea sponged some gesso for some subtle texture.
Thanks so much for coming by! Hope you have a wonderful day!

Love Always

Good morning all! Today I have a page to share that I created using the November Limited Edition kit from My Creative Scrapbook
The Kaisercraft papers are gorgeous and the Prima flowers compliment them perfectly. To start I've done a little random punching along the edges. Then using the Prima stamp in the kit I stamped here and there for touch more interest. To add more texture I used a script stencil and texture paste. I cut the bling flourish and placed them around the clusters.
Thanks so much for stopping in and letting me share with you! Hope you have a wonderful day!
