A bit of sass

Good morning! Hope everyone enjoyed the weekend! Unfortunately for me I was down with a bug for the last four days. Feeling a little better today so hopefully I'm over it. Anyway, on to better things. This is the fifth Monday for April so the challenge this week at Let's Get Sketchy is a "Your Choice" challenge. You choose your favorite sketch from anywhere and pick one of your favorite color combos to do it in.  I chose an older sketch that I had not got around to using yet from Skissedilla. I really liked it so I hung on to it.
And this is the color scheme I chose

I had a couple of ideas floating around in my head so my page ended up going it's own way.
With all that combining I came up with this

Thanks so much for dropping in! Your time and comments are truly appreciated. Hope you have an amazing day.

Blossom

Happy Monday morning all! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! It's time unveil another sketch at Let's Get Sketchy! This week we have a fabulous sketch designed by Bev Code.
And here's my layout based off the sketch
I used Prima's Tea-Thyme collection for this page, along with a lot of Prima flowers. For my Dusty Attic chippie I simply inked it white then lightly inked it in random spots with Bronze ink to get an aged look, and topped it off with clear embossing powder.
I hope to see you play along with us this week! Thanks so much for your time! I truly appreciate it! Hope you have a splendid day!

You are sunshine

About A Girl Challenge Blog is having a mini challenge to get you acclimated to the blog as well as the up and coming challenges they will be having. This mini challenge is a sketch challenge, with a beautiful sketch design by our own Brenshevia Baker. I turned the sketch and came up with this.
I dug into my stash and decided using BB Country Garden range for this page would be perfect. I did a bit of stamping to the background with gesso. I had also been hoarding the chipboard fence, which I had painted and embossed some months ago when I was playing around with different techniques.
The flowers are a mix of Prima and Recollections. I added a few seed beads for extra interest.
And here is Brenshevia's beautiful sketch that I turned
Hope you get a chance to play along with us. I would love to see your take on the sketch. Thanks for stopping by! I apprecaite your time and comments! Hope you have a great day!

Sweetheart

If you're here for the Color Me Scrappy reveal please scroll down.
Good morning! It's reveal time once again at Keeping The Best and we've got a fabulous new sketch for you
Imagine all the fun possibiities for this sketch! Here's my take
I used Prima's Fairy Rhymes range for this page. This collection is one of my favorites. I did a little random stamping on the background with Prima's Hex stamp and Tim Holtz distress ink in Walnut stain. I cut and rolled some of the "wood slats" to show the paper underneath and add some interest.
Thanks so much for your time and comments! I truly appreciate it! Hope you have an amazing day!

It's the little moments

Good morning! Today I have a Guest Design layout to share with you that I've done for the Color Me Scrappy challenge #36. It's a color challenge with the twist being you have to use two of the same photo and have butterflies on your layout. This is the current color scheme:
And this is my layout
I love this photo of my daughter with the waterfall in the background. I used some older papers from my stash which had every one of the required colors in it. How lucky was that! I distressed and did a little punch work in the corners. I did some stamping with gesso randomly on the background, as well as added a few splatters of light blue acrylic paint. I chose to layer my photos over an old dictionary page with the word remember on the top. I'm submitting this to the Scrap For Help current challenge to "Use book pages"
Thanks so much for stopping in and letting me share this with you! I appreciate your time and support! Hope you have a marvelous day!

My first card

If you're here for the Let's Get Sketchy reveal please scroll down.
Hi there! Hope everyone had a great weekend. The weather here was beautiful, I was able to spend some time outdoors cleaning out my flower beds, getting them ready. Anyways, for a while now I've been thinking about trying my hand at making a card. I've never tried before, then I seen the current sketch at Cardabilities, and had to finally try it out. I kept it close to the sketch and fairly simple. So here's my very first card
I used scraps I had from Teresa Collins and Webster's papers. The hearts are made from a die- I think it's a Cuttlebug. The flowers and lace are from my stash. I misted the lace with Shimmerz Vibez in Princess to give it that pretty lavender color. I'm also submitting it to Pin and Tack's anything goes challenge this month.
And here's the fun Cardabilities sketch #72 that I based my card from
Thanks for coming by to peek at my card! I truly appreciate your time and comments! Have a great day!

Remember This Moment

Good Morning! Today I have a layout to share that I've done for the brand new reveal at Let's Get Sketchy. I have used the Sunrise-Sunset collection from Prima. I love this collection designed by Finnabair. When they came in my March Scraps of Darkness kit I was thrilled. I couldn't wait to play with them. I did a little random masking with gesso on the background. I also did a bit of stamping behind the flower clusters. The rings I made using "Chocolate bar" acrylic paint and a couple lids. The linen I cut into strips and ruffled them some as I glued them to the background.
The metal Prima clock and clothes pin also came in the March kit. The flowers, ribbon, pearl strands, and metal buttons are from my stash. I left the Kaisercraft wood pieces plain, just inked the edges a bit. I thought they went better with the outdoor feel from the photo. Since there's quite a few flowers on this I'm submitting it to Berry71Bleu's current challenge which is to use flowers.
And here's this week's great sketch

If this sketch motivates you, link up your project at Let's Get Sketchy. I'd love to see you join us, and remember you have until the end of April to link your creation. If you link up to three of this month's sketches you'll be in the running for this month's prize. Thanks for stopping by! Hope you have a wonderful day!

Keeping The Best reveal

Hey there! Can you believe that it's April already? A quarter of the year is behind us already. And for me this has been a busy, busy Monday. This is my second post for the day, so if you're here for the Color Me Scrappy  challenge please scroll down. Today I have a page to share that I've done for the sketch #57 reveal at Keeping The Best.
I used the January Kit from Scraps of Darkness (a mix of Pink Paislee Portfolio and Basic Grey Serenade papers) and some things from my stash for this page. Lots of layers on this one. I did some stamping on the background with the Prima stamps that came in the kit. I masked on the background with a stencil and black gesso, then aded a few black seed beads for a little added interest. The Dusty Attic chippies were sprayed with Black Magic by Tattered Angels then I also added a few seed beads and Black Diamond Stickles for a little more sparkle.
The flowers are a mix of Prima and Petaloo. The leaves were made using Spellbinders foliage dies and Basic Grey paper. The pretty blue stick pin is from Prima and the wooden clock is by Recollections.

And here is the fabulous sketch...
Thanks for coming by for a peek. I appreciate your time and support. Hope you have a great day.

Such a happy little girl

Good Morning! Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter spending time with family and friends. If you're like me I'm sure you took plenty of photos over the weekend. I'm sharing a page that I've done for Color Me Scrappy's latest color and sketch challenge. The beautiful Easter colors in the required color scheme are perfect for some Easter photos.
And here is the fun sketch designed by Christina Collins...
And this is what I created...
I had  a lot of fun creating this page. On the background I did some inking, doodling, paint splattering, and random masking. I haven't doodled on a layout in years. I forgot how fun it could be, while adding extra interest to your page.
For my banners I lightly distressed the edges after I doodled on them as well, then adhered them with pop dots for more dimension. I wanted to keep the masking fairly subtle so when the molding paste was dry I just swiped it a little with some Star Dust stickles for a touch of sparkle.
The flowers are a mix of Prima and some unknowns from my stash. I applied some Lavender Stickles to my cute butterfly for a little sparkle. I added a small charm to the Petaloo stick pin.

Thanks for stopping in! I really appreciate each and every one of you! Hope you have a great day!
