Look at you

Happy Monday, everyone! I hope everyone got to enjoy their weekend. It's a brand new reveal at Let's Get Sketchy! This is the page that I've created for this week based off the sketch...
For this page I used My Mind's Eye paper that I layered over a piece of teal cardstock that I had punched with Martha Stewart's punch "Vintage Teardrop". And then I layered that on a piece of Glitz Design paper. I misted the background with Tattered Angels' "Lemon Zest". The rhinestone swirl is by Kaisercraft. The flowers, lace, stick pin, and ribbon are from my stash.
And here is the fabulous sketch for this week...
Thanks for coming by! I really appreciate your time and support!

A perfect day with you

Hello! Today I'm sharing a new page that I've done for the Color Me Scrappy challenge #29. The challenge is to use the sketch and color combo they have selected. Here's the color combo...
And the sketch...

This is what I came up with...
(Sorry for the glare on the right photo) I really have a thing for bows right now so I ended using them instead of the banner between the photos. I don't think that I had ever done a green layout before, but I really had fun with this one.
I sprayed the Dusty Attic leaf chippies with Tattered Angel's English Ivy. I did some masking on the background , then spritzed it with Tattered Angel's in Little Sprout.
The cute Dusty Attic Watering can chippie I painted with Golden Brown Metallic acrylic paint. I think it has almost a bronze look to it. And I used Tiger's Eye beads on the butterfly.
Thanks for stopping in! I appreciate your time and comments! Have a great day!

Keeping the best... reveal #54

Hello there! It's time for the reveal of sketch challenge #54 at Keeping the best...
They always have such beautiful sketches to get your mojo going and here's the latest they've revealed to inspire you...
Here's the layout that I created based from the sketch...
The photos I chose are of my daughter Makara when she was six weeks old. The papers are KaiserCraft's "Forget Me Not" collection. The love title is also by KaiserCraft inked to match the papers. I framed the photos with Pink Paislee "Artisan Elements" which I also inked to go with the papers. Some distressing and hand stitching, as well as little gesso and misting to the background.  The flowers are a mixture from my stash, as well as the ribbon. The leaves are made using a Spellbinders die, and a Martha Stewart punch.
The fairy resin is from Prima. I used Rub and Buff in gold on her wings and belt. The little fairy pocket watch is by Fairytales. Seed beads for a bit more color and texture.

Thanks for stopping by! Hope you consider using the sketch and playing along with us! I'd love to see you link up with us! Have a wonderful day!

Lullaby

Good morning! It's snowing this morning- so pretty to watch, but it doesn't stick around very long. Today I have a new layout to share with you that I've done for the "Press Your Luck" challenge at Colorful Creations. My challenge was to create a monochromatic layout. I chose to switch it up and do a boy layout for a change of pace. I grabbed a photo of my nephew as a baby and some blue papers from the Tim Holtz "Vintage Shabby" collection. And this is what I came up with...
I distressed all the layers and did some messy punching with a Martha Stewart border punch. I applied Stickles in "Waterfall" to my diecuts for a bit of sparkle, and a few rhinestones in my flower cluster. I pleated my light blue ribbon the sewed buttons on each pleat. The blue lace bow has a pacifier charm that I sewed on. Otherwise I kept the design pretty simple to keep the focus on the cute photo.
Thank for coming by and taking a peek! I truly appreciate your time and comments! Hope you're having a wonderful weekend!

You make life beautiful

Good morning again, my friends! Sharing another page today. This one was created for the Round Robin challenge in the Scraps of Darkness forums. I used the January kit from SOD called "Waterways". It's a gorgeous kit chock full of goodies! Here's what I created...
A lot of distressed layers on this one. A little bit of masking with gesso, and some splatters using subtle yellow acrylic paint and black ink spray by Ranger.

The basis for this page was the current sketch over at Keeping the best... This is the beautiful sketch...
Thanks for dropping in! I truly appreciate it! Hope you have a great Monday!

Little sweetie ~LGS reveal~

Good morning all! It's time for another amazing sketch reveal at Let's Get Sketchy.
Here is the fun sketch...
And this is the layout I created...
I was in the mood for some bright spring colors. I used Pink Paislee's Spring Jubilee and Fancy Pants papers.  I did some messy punching to the background using Martha Stewart border punches, then inked the edges with Tim Holtz distress ink in Vintage Photo. A little gesso on the background, then a couple light sprays of Cherry Limeade by Tattered Angels. The chipboard pieces are by Crate Paper- the Emma's Shoppe collection. And a couple close-ups to share...
Thanks for stopping in! For even more inspiration head over to Let's Get Sketchy and check out what the other ladies of the DT have to share with you. They have some beautiful projects to inspire you. I hope to see you link up with us this month. Have a great Monday!

My angel on earth

Well hello again! This is my second post of the day. This time around I'm sharing a new layout that I'm submitting to the Let's Get Shabby sketch challenge. I loved the sketch, it's so versatile you can really have fun with it. Here's the sketch...
And here's what I created...
And some close-ups...
For the chipboard wings, I gave them a rough coat of gesso. When dry I simply gave them a coat of gold ink, then layered them over feathers.
On the background I lightly sprayed Perfect Pearls mist in Heirloom gold. And randomly stamped with gesso with the rim of a lid for a little more texture and interest. The flowers are a mix from my stash, along with the lace, pearls, and purple crochet doily.
Thank you again for your time! Hope you have a Blessed Sunday!

Go with your heart

Happy Sunday! Today I'm sharing a page that I did a few weeks ago for the "Layer it up" challenge in the Flying Unicorn forum. I forgot that I didn't post it here as well. The challenge was to do a layout with at least six layers, the last layer on the photo.
I used a mix of papers from Prima, Memory Box, and HOTP. I masked the background with gesso, then added a little ultra fine glitter while it was still tacky. I pleated the ribbon on my background with a hot glue gun. I don't know about you, but I'd have a hard time scrapping without my glue gun. It's one of my favorite tools. On the vintage rose paper by HOTP I used the "Cherish" border punch by Martha Stewart. The punch used on the Memory Box paper is "Deco fan" by MS as well. I lightly inked my layers with Tim Holtz "Chipped Sapphire" distress ink.

Thanks so much for coming by and letting me share with you! I appreciate it!

Our pride and joy

Hello, everyone! Today I'm sharing a layout that I've done for the February challenge at Unique Crafter's Challenge.
The challenge is to use fabric and/or lace on your project. How easy is that!?! I almost always use lace somewhere on my projects. I'm also entering this in the inspiration challenge at Colorful Creations. Here's what I came up with this time...
I used a crochet doily, lace, cheese cloth, and some of my flowers are fabric. The papers are from Pink Paislee "Spring Jubilee" collection. I love the bright, fun colors. I'm sooo ready for spring! I did a little masking using moldeling paste and a mask that I picked up at Home Depot for just a couple of dollars. I love a deal =)
The wood elements are from KaiserCraft. A little gesso here and there.
The flowers are a mixture of Prima, Petaloo, and some from my stash that I had cut from a few branches that I got from Hobby Lobby.
Thanks so much for coming by and spending some of your Saturday with me! I hope you enjoy the rest of your day!

Almost 13

Hello there! I'm sharing a new layout that I've done for the current challenge over at The Paper Mixing Bowl. It's been awhile since I've done any of their challenges so I figured I'd give it a try again. I love the colors this month.
This is the current recipe challenge...
I used three of the utensils: wet medium, metallic elements, and bling.
And here's what I was able to create...
She will officially be a teenager this year- gosh do I feel old. I journalled on the back her current favorites and what her goals are this year. And some of the details close up...
Thanks for taking a peek! I really appreciate your time and comments! Have a wonderful day!
