Yay, it's the weekend! Happy Saturday, everyone! I have a layout to share today that I made using my November kit called Kharma from Scraps of Darkness. Such a gorgeous kit full of Bo Bunny and Graphic 45 papers. I did this layout for the "one little word" challenge in the Flying Unicorn forum. The challenge being to choose one word for your title to describe what you would like to achieve this year. I chose the word "dare" and the quote that I wrote on the tag tucked under my photo says " If you dare nothing, when the day is over, nothing is all you will have gained." This year I'd really like to step outside my comfort zone and test my limits. I designed my layout with some symbolisms for myself, I hope they don't sound too goofy. The little feather represents the need to test my wings more, the shutter is my comfort zone- I've placed it at my back as if I'm stepping out of it, the bricks represent obstacles that I may need to overcome for growth which is represented by the flowers outside the bricks. Having said all that I hope my layout makes more sense to you...
I've done some stamping and border punching on my layers. The stamp that I used is "Hex" by Prima. It's one of my favorites. The Martha Stewart punches I used are "Vintage floral", "Daisy", and "Wildflowers". I inked the edges on all my layers with "Black Soot" from Tim Holtz. For my bricks I took a piece of chipboard and cut brick shapes out, then I applied molding paste and white acrylic paint to give them some texture. I adhered them with pop dots for more dimension. Here are a few close-ups...
Thanks so much for coming by and spending some of your weekend with me! I appreciate your time and comments! Have a splendid weekend!
The way you put all these symbolisms in your composition is just great! I loooove those blue flowers too! Lovely work!
