Autumn card

Hello! It's reveal time again at Let's Get Sketchy. With this being the fifth Monday in September we've decided to change it up just a bit. This week we are challenging you to create a Fall inspired or Halloween inspired card. And here's the simple card I came up with
Easy peasy and done in about 10 minutes! I kept it simple because I don't normally create cards, this is only my second card ever. So even if you're new to cards like me, go grab your Fall or Halloween supplies and just have fun. I hope to see your awesome cards linked up with us! Thanks so much for stopping by! Happy crafting!

Keeping the Best sketch #69 reveal

Hello all! Today I'm sharing my DT layout for the sketch #69 reveal at Keeping the Best. I turned the sketch for my page.
For my page I decided to keep it pretty simple with a few fun techniques thrown in. I dug deep into my stash and found this mix of patterned papers from Sassafras Lass, October Afternoon, and Lily Bee. I started off with a piece of plain kraft paper that I stamped, doodled, inked, and stenciled on first. Then I added my layered banners, tucking in my journaling card and upcycled Prima package. I also layered in a bit of lace and some of the washi tape that I just got for my birthday that I couldn't wait to use. Finally finishing it off with a photo of my Hydrangea that's still blooming, embellies and paint splatters.
And here's the fun new sketch
Thanks for dropping by! I hope you give the sketch a try and link back to us.

Wonderful

Happy Monday morning all! It's time for a new reveal at Let's Get Sketchy and we have another fabulous sketch to inspire you. This is my DT page based off this week's sketch
For this page I used papers and tags from the Hope Chest collection by Pink Paislee, which came in my May Scraps of Elegance kit. I even upcycled the paper bag that the embellies came in. Renea Harrison made the pretty butterflies for the kit. I think they go with the photo wonderfully. The flowers are a mix of different collections by Prima that I had in my stash, along with the pearls, resin, and misc. chipboard pieces. I believe this particular photo is one that I had saved from Pinterest to use as a wallpaper quite a while back. At least before I was running around my yard with camera in hand like some butterfly chasing fool earlier this summer. I'm so glad that I don't have close neighbors to witness my antics. Anyways, here's a couple closies
And here's this week's fabulous sketch designed by the talented Tabitha Triplett
Thanks for stopping in! Hope you have an amazing week!

Something sweet

If you're here for the About A Girl reveal please scroll down.
Hello everybody! I hope that you've had a great weekend so far. Today  Use Your Words has revealed a new challenge word. Your challenge is to use the word "sweet" either in your title or visible journaling. And this is my inspiration page for the reveal.
For this page I used some of the Farmhouse "Country Kitchen" papers from the August Scraps of Darkness kit. They seemed to be a perfect fit for my photo. I did a few techniques on this; distressing, stamping, and stenciling with 2 different stencils using ink and stucco patch. My dear husband picked me up a big tub of it at the Home Depot, and the gritty texture it gives is amazing. I matted my photos on some cardboard for a bit more dimension, then tucked my embellishments around them.
Here's the sketch 28-13 from Scrappy Sketches that I based my page from
Remember you have until the end of the month to link up your "Sweet" creation with us. I can't wait to see your pages. Thanks for coming by for a peek.

Dream with every breath

If you're here for the Spice & Sugar blog hop please go here.
Good morning! A brand new challenge has been revealed at About A Girl. This time we are challenging you to use lots of flowers on your layout. How easy is that? For my inspiration page I used flowered paper as well as embellishments.
I used the "Natural" collection papers and alpha stickers by Authentique, mixed with Farmhouse "Country Kitchen" papers that came in my Aug. Scraps of Darkness kit. I distressed all my layers, inking the edges with the Prima chalker in Rusty Bucket. On the background, I added some random stamping and stencil work using ditress ink in "Brushed Corduroy" for a bit more added interest. The topaz rhinestones are from Recollections that I had in my stash. The flowers are a mix of Prima, Petaloo, Recollections, and my stash. The tape, doilies, charm, and chipboard buttons are all from my stash as well. The flourish die cuts were made using a Cheery Lynn flourish die.
For my rings I used Tim Holtz distress crackle paint in "Vintage Photo"
For the 1 2 3 Get Scrappy challenge board I went straight across the middle.
Thanks for dropping in! I hope you get a chance to join us at About A Girl with your flowery creations! I'd love to see them!

Hope

Happy Monday morning all! The weekend just wasn't long enough, but on the bright side it's time at Let's Get Sketchy for a brand new sketch reveal. Here's my inspiration based off the sketch
While digging through my stash I found 2 sets of this "Picket Fence" collection by Lily Bee, so I figured it was time to use at least one set up. Really, how can someone have multiple sets of a collection and not realize it until they stumble across them. I thought I was having deja vu for a moment there. Anyways, I altered the background wth a bit of stamping, stenciling, inking, and paint splats. I then distresseed and randomly inked my layers. The flowers, lace, doilies, and ephemera are from my stash. I have 3 soda clips mixed in my embellishments for the Scrap for help challenge. I think they worked pretty well with my metal title.
I have a couple closies of the details showing the layers and dimension
I pleated my doilies and affixed my banner with pop dots for a bit more dimension
And here's the fabulous sketch designed by our own Ashley Horton
Thanks for dropping in! I would love to see you join us with your creation based off the sketch! Have a wonderful day! `

Adore

Hello everyone! It's time for the reveal of sketch #19 at 2 Broke Girls Scraps. Here is the page that I created for the reveal based off this week's sketch.
I created this page using the Authentique "Cherish" range, distressing all my layers. Using the CW "Ledger" stencil and heavy gesso I added some texture. For an added touch I went around the background randomly with the CW "Tiny Tiles" stencil and Tim Holtz's "Vintage Photo" distress ink. The flowers are a mix of Petaloo, Prima, and my stash. The butterflies and resin birdhouse are by Recollections. The chipboard title is by Dusty Attic. The lace, ribbon, pearls, cheesecloth, and metal pieces are all from my stash.
For the title chippie I simply painted it with light pink acrylic paint, once dry I dabbed it with Prima chalk ink in "Vintage Pink", finishing it off by inking the edges in dark brown.
Here's this week's sketch
I hope you get the chance to join us. And don't forget about the Spice & Sugar sketch-a-thon going on all month long. Thanks for stopping by!

Tough

Hello all! Thanks so much for visiting me today! If you're here for the About A Girl reveal please scroll down. Today I'm sharing my inspiration page done for the Use Your Words reveal. Your new challenge word for September 1st is "tough"
I used some older Basic Grey papers for this page. On the background I did some random masking, stamping, inking, and dry brushing with gesso. The stamps I used are "Full of words" and "Butterfly" made by 3rd Eye. I love their stamps! The black flowers and bling are by Prima. The charms are from the Flying Unicorn adornments.
You have until Sept.30th to create a page with the word "tough" in the title or journaling (as long as it's visible) and link back to us here. I can't wait to see your creations! Have a wonderful day!

Why not?

Good morning! We have a fun new challenge for you at About A Girl. This time around we are doing a cross-over with our sister site About A Boy and our challenge is to create a boy page using black, white, and one other color. I chose blue and this photo of my youngest nephew playing in the mud (after his Mom had told him not to of course).
For this page I used the Echo Park collection "All about a boy" papers. I inked the edges and then did some masking to the background with heavy gesso and the CW "static" stencil. While I allowed it to dry, I cut out my arrows and inked the edges. Using the "Sprightly sprockets" dies by Spellbinders I made some gears to go with the metal gears I had in my stash. I used cardboard under the arrows and photo, and pop dots under a few of the gears for added dimension. Finishing it off with a few light sprays of Ranger black ink.
Thanks for popping in! I hope you get the chance to join us!
