My guy

Happy Memorial Day morning all! It's reveal time again at Let's Get Sketchy. This is my take on this week's fabulous sketch designed by Tabitha Triplett
I used BoBunny's MamaRazzi collection 1 papers on this. Did some random masking in the background and layers with CW tiny tiles mask and Shimmerz Texturez in Patina. That stuff is amazing, I want it in every color! And I added a few flicks of Shimmerz Vibez in Before Dawn to the background. I made the chipboard gears using Spellbinders "Spritely sprockets" dies by Donna Salazar. I inked them in silver, then heat embossed them with silver and a little black, finishing them with some black ink to the edges. I raided the garage for some washers, nuts, and the spring that I dabbed with gesso. I hope my husband didn't have plans for the spring, it was just sitting on his workbench begging me to use it.
I just couldn't help myself, I added three flowers on the layout. But it's only three and I toned them down by dabbing a touch of gesso to them.
And here's this week's sketch
I hope you get a chance to play around with the sketch and link your project back to us. I'd love to see your work. Thanks for dropping in and letting me share this with you. Have a terrific day!

Heart & Soul

Hello everyone! Hope you're having a great week so far. Can you believe we are in the middle of May already? It's flying by that's for sure. Summer's right around the corner. Today I'm sharing my DT layout done for the "Bursting at the seams" challenge that's revealed this morning at About A Girl- to use a sunburst design on your layout. Honestly, this is a design I've never tried before. This is what I came up with
For my papers I dug out the "Restoration" collection by Crate Paper that I've hoarded for way too long. I have 14 storage boxes full of patterned paper to go through. Slowly but surely I think I'm making a dent. I think I'll end up donating a bunch of it again though. I'm ready for some new stuff. Anyway, I lightly distressed all the edges with my Prima distresser. I inked the edges on the doily with Tim Holtz in vintage photo. I cut the leaves using my Spellbinder's foliage dies.

You have until the end of the month to get your sunburst layout done and uploaded on the About A Girl blog, and remember only girls in the photos please. I would love to see you link up with us. Thanks for coming by! Have a wonderful day!

The Road Less Traveled

Happy Monday morning all! I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day weekend. Mine was a bit hectic, but I enjoyed it. It's reveal time again at Let's Get Sketchy and so I'm sharing the layout that I've done for the new sketch reveal
For this I used MME "Joy" woodgrain from the Stella and Rose collection along with MME 29th Street Market Fresh "Outdoors" Spring greens and Fresh "Brothers" Sidewalk chalk papers. I distressed the layers with my Prima distresser. Then I did a little subtle stamping on the background with Color Box in "Alabaster" and some bubble wrap. Placed a strand of burlap twine on the background then layered my photo mat on top. Sorry for the slight glare on the photo, for some reason I just couldn't get rid of the glare- no matter how many photos I took.  Let's blame the gloss finish ok? The flowers are a mix from Petaloo, Prima, and my stash. The cute resin birds are by Prima. The metal trinkets are from my stash. And I believe the alphas are "Documented" Simple Stories.
And here is this week's fabulous sketch designed by Ashley Horton
Thanks for taking a peek! I truly appreciate your time and comments! Have a great day!

Round Robin at the Flying Unicorn

Hello everyone! Hope you had a great scrappy weekend! The Flying Unicorn is currently having a Round Robin challenge in their forum. There are a record breaking nine teams this time- amazing! Today I'm sharing the page I came up with to start my team off
I had a whole lot of fun with this. There's a little stamping, masking, punch work, and inking for the background. I went with lighter tones because I had quite a bit of details, but I wanted to make sure the photo stood out. I used Authentique and Prima papers here. The flowers are a mix of Prima, Petaloo, and my stash supply. The little trinkets are from my stash also. And the beautiful large chipboard butterfly is by Gina's designs. I have a few of the sneaks to show some of the details

Thanks so much for coming by!

Precious One

Hello everyone! Hope you are well and enjoying this spring weather we are finally having. It's time to reveal sketch #59 at Keeping The Best! This is the great new sketch
And here's my page based off the sketch

The papers I chose are from the Beautiful Dreamer collection. I had been hoarding them for quite awhile. In fact when I got to looking I realized that I had two sets of this collection hoarded away. Sad but true. I dusted off my cricut to make the corner pieces, then misted them with Cherry Limeade Tattered Angels. The flowers are a mix of Prima and some I've had in my stash, as well as the metal trinkets. The lace and that darling little doily I found in my stash. The cute little pink heart stick pin is from Webster's. I added a little tulle and pearls to my cluster to dress it up a bit. And added seed beads for some interest and texture.
If you get a chance to play with this sketch, I'd love to see you link up with us. Thanks for coming by and allowing me to share with you. I truly appreciate your time. Have a great day.

About A Girl's Official First Challenge

Good morning all! All About A Girl has officially started their sponsored challenges with goodies from 7Dots Studio. For our very first challenge it's all about introducing the girl(s) in our lives, and we were required to do a page with our girl's name visible somewhere on it as a way of introducing them. It doesn't have to be the title, in the journaling is fine as long as it's visible.
So this is my page introducing my daughter Makara to everyone.
I used the Rondelle collection by Prima for this page. The flowers are a mixture of Prima and some from my stash along with the ribbon and trinkets. The flourish die cuts were made using a Cheery Lynn die. I painted the chipboard letters with "Malted Milk" acrylic, then stamped them with a ledger stamp and Stazon ink in black. I also used the black Stazon with my Inkido hummingbird stamp and the random stamping I did on the background.
Thanks for stopping by! I really appreciate it! Have a wonderful day!
