Remember

Good afternoon all! I have a new layout to share with you today. I really loved the sketch for C'est Magnifique kits this month and couldn't wait to play along. Here's the page I created based off their sketch.

I used papers and flowers from Prima's Time Traveler range for this page, as well as a few flowers from my stash thrown in. For my background I've done some stamping and stenciling, then distressed my edges.

 I heat embossed the Dusty Attic chipboard flourishes using Stampendous embossing powder in Antique Gold then using a sponge and ink in Black Lightening I gave the pieces a bit more interest. I think it really added to the aged look I was trying to go for =)

 I added a few pearls and trinkets to my clusters, topping it off with a twine bow and butterfly. Then as a finishing touch I went around my page with a sponge and gesso, giving everything a bit more shabby feel.

Hi there all! I hope everyone got to enjoy the long weekend. Can you believe that it's September already? The kids are starting their fifth week of school, where does the time go? It's gone in a blink that's for sure.

Are you ready for a new sketch challenge? We have revealed our first fabulous sketch for Sept. at Stick It Down and here it is.

 And this is my inspiration page based off the sketch.

I started by giving the background a few random dabs of gesso using a sea sponge. While the gesso was drying I added splatter of acrylic paint in khaki and in white. After it dried I added my stamping using Glitz Design stamps and Prima chalk ink in dark bark. Once I had my tags, photos and embellishments in place I finished it up by adding a few more splatters.
